About The Position

Under general supervision following established policies, procedures, professional guidelines, delivers care to patient’s pre, during and post procedure. Assists physician performing procedure to include but not limited to catheterizations, interventions, and implants. Implements patient care; documents patient assessments and flow of procedure; identifies and reports situations requiring intervention; communicates goals and plan of care; assures patient rights. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the values of Tampa General Hospital and the principles of FOCUS-PDCA. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is primarily performed in patient care settings. Extensive interaction with patients, staff, physicians, family members, and visitors is required. Lifting bending, stooping, standing for long periods of time and exposure to bodily fluids is involved. Wearing of a lead apron is required. Pushing and pulling of patients and stretchers is involved. Lifting of supplies is also required. This position has been evaluated as a Level 1 in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) definition of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Level I Positions in this category require the performance of tasks which involve exposure to blood and potentially infectious body fluids.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology and/or healthcare related associate degree or equivalent.
  • Will require Cardiac Cath Lab experience and/or on the job training.
  • BLS and ACLS Certifications.
  • Hospital Cardiac Cath lab setting experience, including CVT school clinicals.
