Be part of a legacy of excellence and growth with sg360°! Our company is seeking a Cutter Operator for 1st shift (6am to 2pm). The Cutter Operator is responsible for the setup, adjustment, and safe operation of all cutting equipment. This role ensures products are accurately prepared for packing, inspection, collation, or binding while meeting customer specifications and adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment
  • Knowledge of various types of material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fraction

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience with a Polar Imperial, Cutter machine preferred
  • Knowledge of all procedures required to safely operate a guillotine cutting machine.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish (both oral & written is desired)

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, report workplace hazards, injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents immediately, and maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Review job tickets and plan work processes to ensure all customer specifications are met.
  • Mark press sheets accurately to indicate proper cuts and verify final cut sizes.
  • Set up assigned cutting equipment according to job specifications and obtain approval prior to production runs.
  • Operate equipment as directed by the supervisor or plant management.
  • Accurately document press sheet data, including dates, quantities, and counts.
  • Monitor equipment during production runs to ensure compliance with specifications and make necessary adjustments.
  • Perform routine tool maintenance, including replacing worn cutting blades using appropriate hand tools.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstations are maintained in safe and proper working condition.
  • Coordinate with Ryobi and Die Cutter operations to ensure correct product flow and uninterrupted production.
  • Assist bindery, pressroom, and drill operators as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
