About The Position

Technician will lay out material/vinyl with varying designs/widths of repeat for the cutting machine. Technicians must be knowledgeable of how to cut cloth and vinyl. Technicians will compile material cut. Technician must be able to use patterns, mark material and hand cut. The ability to cut leather is preferred. Technician will assist with marking/folding. Must be able to read measuring devices such as measuring tape or yard sticks. Function: Layout, Trace patterns and cut material. Lay out material for Cutting Machine and assist with marking and folding. Read work tickets/shop order. Verify the style, any special instructions, and verify fabric. Must be able to lift 60 pounds. Must be able to manipulate the material by rolling it out, smoothing, preparing lays, etc. Must be able to read and understand measuring devices such as tape measure, yard stick, etc. Ability to use cutting knives as well as scissors. Lay and trace patterns and cut material in the most economical method. Be able to cut out pattern individually or via lays. Lay out material for the cutting machine Verify that material has been laid out and cut per the style, special instructions, grain, patterns, or type of fabric Understand Match In, Balanced vs. Unbalanced, and able to line up patterns/lines for inside parts. Must be able to fold, mark and bundle material. Communicate issues and maintain open communication lines with peers, supervisor, and management. Available to work overtime with minimal notice. Comply with quality and quantity standard.
