About The Position

The Cut Off Operator assists Weld Mill Operator with changeovers, set up and splicing on the tube mill. Axis Pipe and Tube LLC is committed to helping partners in the oil and gas industry achieve superior results by supplying premium-quality oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and line pipe products, along with the necessary service. Located in Bryan, Texas, their manufacturing facility can produce over 300,000 tons of electric resistance welded (ERW) OCTG and Line Pipe annually, utilizing the latest technology and manufacturing techniques to ensure products meet or exceed the highest safety standards. The company is also dedicated to providing a safe, healthy workplace for all employees. They serve partners requiring a wide range of specifications and can supply products according to international standards such as API 5L, API 5CT, and ASTM.

Requirements

High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED, etc.)
One to three months equivalent experience in related field OR, Proof of training in an area related to the job assignment
Reasonable knowledge in hand-held measuring devices, micrometers, measuring tapes, go/no-go gauges, grinding, operation of thickness gauges and depth gauges
Moderate to Advanced PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

High frequency welding experience desired.

Responsibilities

Changeover and set up mills.
Operate lower end of the mill (Saw), continuously monitor pipe size, ovality, length, straightness, inside flash and quality of product being produced.
Set up stencil equipment.
Perform maintenance on mills as required.
Communicate and work with Mill Operator on a team basis.
Basic housekeeping in general work area.
Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description.
