About The Position

The Customs Specialist, FTZ Coordinator is responsible for managing Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. This role supports daily FTZ activities, maintains accurate documentation, and serves as a liaison between internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in Customs brokerage, FTZ operations, Trade Compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication with internal teams and external partners
  • Ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) and ABI (Automated Broker Interface) systems
  • FTZ ICRS (Inventory Control and Recordkeeping System)
  • Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with CBP regulations and FTZ procedures.
  • Prepare and submit customs forms (e.g., Entry Forms, CBP 214, 3461, 7501, invoices).
  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and annual FTZ reports to CBP.
  • Support internal and external audits related to FTZ operations.
  • Coordinate FTZ activities including admissions, withdrawals, and inventory movements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of CBP Form 214 and other required documentation.
  • Operate and maintain the FTZ Inventory Control and Recordkeeping System (ICRS).
  • Monitor FTZ inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Work closely with importers, logistics providers, and internal departments.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to address inventory discrepancies.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding FTZ and customs-related inquiries.
  • Provide guidance on FTZ procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison with CBP and other regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Track customs entries and FTZ admissions to ensure timely processing.
  • Maintain documentation including CBP Form 214, entry summaries, and FTZ inventory records.
  • Ensure all records are retained in accordance with CBP and company policy.
