Responsible for ensuring accurate tariff classification, Country of Origin maintenance, and compliance with customs regulations for a wide range of products and materials. Oversees import/export documentation, audits customs entries, and collaborates with internal teams and brokers to support timely clearances and maintain comprehensive material master data.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of customs brokerage or import entry experience, preferred time handling PGAs, OGAs, Import Customs Entries, and customer service with importers. Previous experience with air is a plus but not required. Strong ocean entry background required.
  • Educational background in Supply Chain Logistics or International Business (or internship experience) preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience with PC, including Microsoft Office, databases, software, web-based applications, and vendor’s systems.
  • 10 years of experience in customs compliance

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accurate classification of tariffs for a diverse portfolio of products, components, materials, and spare parts, while maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date material master data in coordination with Engineering, Marketing and Commercial finance.
  • Maintain Country of Origin for products, components, materials and spare parts in the material master data
  • Execute assigned projects.
  • Provide all relevant data to logistics department to ensure timely and accurate entry filing and customs clearance.
  • Ensure record keeping documentation is complete for all imports and bonded Warehouse.
  • Work with customs brokers on any issues involving clearances and customs entries.
  • Audit completed customs entries.
  • Establish classification worksheets to support item classifications along with Engineering team.
  • Establish and maintain Export Control Commodity Number (ECCN) for current material.
  • Ensure compliance with all customs rules and regulations.
  • Serve as a channel for resolution on compliance issues, including stopping orders/shipments if compliance concerns are not reconciled.
  • Experience interpreting and applying U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, including tariff classification, valuation, admissibility, and duty requirements under Title 19 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Knowledge of CBP enforcement priorities and trade risk management practices to proactively mitigate risks related to classification, valuation, and admissibility.
  • Monitor, interpret, and apply U.S. and international trade laws and regulations such: export controls, sanctions, HTS/ECCN classification, country of origin rules, and free trade agreements.
