Requisition ID: 76455 Description The Customs Compliance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the company's global trade compliance strategy, focusing on Customs operations. Reporting to the Global Trade Compliance Director, this position will ensure the company's Customs activities adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role requires hands-on operational expertise, process improvement skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple business functions. Note: This will be an on-site role. We are open to any U.S. Skyworks location, preferably Woburn, Austin or Irvine.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of overall experience in import/customs compliance, preferably in the semiconductor or technology manufacturing sector.
  • Subject matter expertise in U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, duty preference programs, and CTPAT.
  • Experience with classification (HTS, ECCN, USML) and working with software tools to support trade compliance.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex regulatory matters to non-experts.
  • Collaborative and creative approach; ability to work across functions and with all levels of the workforce.
  • Proven track record to work with minimal supervision in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting internal audits and assessments is a plus.
  • Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of import compliance, including customs clearance, classification, valuation, country of origin determination, and duty preference programs.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, marking and labeling requirements, and other relevant import laws.
  • Administer and manage processes for duty drawbacks, reconciliations, and reductions.
  • Maintain knowledge of up to date Customs regulations and pending legislation; implement internal programs and policies to address risks and respond to Customs regulation changes.
  • Partner with Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other internal teams to coordinate import activities and resolve Customs issues.
  • Support internal/external audits and post-entry reviews.
  • Administer the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) compliance program and manage associated audits.
  • Oversee broker management and ensure accurate and timely Customs filings.
  • Provide guidance on Automated Export System (AES) filings related to imports and exports, ensuring accuracy and resolution of errors.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain import compliance policies, procedures, and technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct internal audits and assessments of import compliance programs.
  • Develop and deliver training to internal stakeholders on import and customs compliance requirements.
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance on import-related matters, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and duty preference programs.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel and consultants as needed.
  • Ensure global trade records are maintained in accordance with government document retention requirements.
  • Support quality control oversight of in-house import classifications and documentation.
