About The Position

This position is responsible for creating relationships/partnerships with business, industry, and education stakeholders in the content areas of Aviation Maintenance, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), Advanced Composites, and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) related technologies (Small UAS - Trusted Operator). The person in this position will develop and deliver training programs related to specific systems technology to support the advancement of these industries, and develop grants (State and Federal) and contract sales to pay for the delivery of these services to clients. Establish and develop industry relationships and partnerships to sell the programs and services of Northland Aerospace: Develop curriculum and courses needed by the industry partners to advance the Aviation Maintenance, UAS, Advanced Composites, Trusted Operator and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) workforce in the region and beyond. Deliver customized courses, workshops and camps in areas of expertise and provide leadership in the delivery of assigned projects: Provide marketing, promotion and advertising.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant work experience; Master’s degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience; Associate’s degree may substitute for six months of experience.
  • Customer service skills sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs and provide accurate information as appropriate.
  • Practical professional experience in a business/industry environment.
  • Proficiency in interpersonal communications and leadership skills.
  • Evidence of computer literacy.
  • Evidence of attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • In accordance with the Minnesota State’s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MinnState’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • The successful candidate under U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations must be able to accept work in the U.S. by the day employment begins.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
  • Teaching experience with adult learners.
  • 2 years of experience in continuing education, customized training, curriculum development, or related training field.
  • Demonstrated experience with sales and marketing of products and/or services.
  • Experience with employee training and development or workforce training programming.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to secure contracts or grants for training.
  • Experience in work-based learning programs such as apprenticeship.
  • Experience with grants related to economic development, program development, or workforce training.
  • Established network of professional trainers/instructors and/or business or community partners for training and continuing education projects.
