About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Specialist is to perform and assist with tasks related to providing a high level of customer service for General Waste & Recycling, LLC. This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to our customers to aid in the day-to-day operations.

  • 2+ years of experience in an office environment

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct customers entering the facility in a professional manner
  • Monitor all inbound and outbound traffic and operate all scale house functions
  • Operate scales using systems to weigh trucks, issue tickets, measure trucks and trailers as needed, secure credit card payments, and maintain accurate records
  • Assist IT in troubleshooting software and technology associated with scale and or software
  • Understand General Waste’s waste acceptance policies and enforce these policies
  • Print tickets and manage manifests for all inbound and outbound traffic
  • Work as primary customer service representative for General Waste’s Landfill and hauling operations
  • Promptly respond to customer inquiries and service requests daily
  • Work closely with and assist the sales team as needed
  • Routine monitoring of on-going jobs including but not limited to; scanning manifests, and sending customers and/or consultants’ appropriate information as requested
  • Prepare job report summaries daily, reconcile to manifests, and deliver to consultants and customers as requested
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers and employees through open communication
  • Manage customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and follow up on resolutions
  • Perform order entry into dispatch software, work with Lead Driver to ensure customers are serviced in a timely fashion and assist in dispatch when needed
  • Maintain customer database, including pricing and billing information, in dispatch software
  • Execute custom reports to help understand volume trends and pricing trends
  • Aid in processing credit applications and managing credit limits
  • Distribute invoices and monthly credit card statements for approval and receipts to properly code into accounting software
  • Collect, open, and distribute inbound mail accordingly daily
  • Reconcile vendor hauling and disposal bills by running reports from appropriate software
  • Perform bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures related to accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Regularly review accounts receivable balances and contact customers as necessary to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances
  • Manage credit card transactions for landfill, sales, and driver operations
  • Work closely with billing and sales to accurately invoice customers
