About The Position

Public Storage is seeking a Self Storage Manager to work independently at multiple locations, performing both indoor and outdoor tasks. The role involves assessing customer storage needs, selling packing and moving supplies, conducting daily storage unit inspections to ensure inventory and availability, and preparing spaces for rent. Key financial responsibilities include auditing cash drawers and making bank deposits. Managers are also responsible for customer account management, including ensuring current payments and making reminder and collection calls. The position requires driving to multiple properties, performing bank cash deposits, opening and closing facilities, assisting customers with rentals, resolving issues, completing lease agreements, managing company assets, and handling confidential customer information for break-ins and delinquent accounts. Accurate documentation of customer payments and adherence to cash handling policies are essential. Managers will also handle scheduled delinquent calls, execute lien sales, and administer transactions with Auction Vendors. Additionally, the role includes performing cleaning and daily maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and maintaining exterior grounds.

Requirements

  • Successful candidates come from a variety of customer service centered sales environments including retail, restaurant, fast food or other service-based companies
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Utilize own vehicle to travel between different work locations and/or while conducting other work-related business

Responsibilities

  • Work independently at multiple locations, spending time both inside and outside
  • Assess customer storage needs and make suggestions, including selling packing and moving supplies
  • Perform daily storage unit inspections to confirm inventory and availability, ensuring spaces are ready to rent
  • Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits
  • Help keep customers current with payments and make reminder and collection calls when required
  • Drive to multiple properties and perform bank cash deposits
  • Be responsible for opening and closing facilities
  • Assist reservation and walk-in customers in renting storage spaces, including resolving issues and completing lease agreements
  • Be responsible for company assets/property
  • Access customer accounts, including confidential and sensitive personal information, when responding to break-ins and delinquent accounts
  • Accept, enter, and accurately document all customer payments, ensuring that cash handling and deposits are conducted in accordance with company policy
  • Make scheduled delinquent calls
  • Execute lien sales
  • Administer transactions with Auction Vendors, including providing access to purchased space
  • Perform cleaning and daily maintenance tasks: including sweeping/mopping interior areas and maintain exterior grounds/curb appeal clean and free of debris
