Customer Service - Self Storage Manager
About The Position
Public Storage, a leader in the self-storage industry, is hiring for a Self Storage Manager, also referred to as a Property Manager. This role involves working independently across multiple locations, engaging with customers to assess their storage needs, and selling related packing and moving supplies. Key responsibilities include conducting daily inspections of storage units to ensure inventory accuracy and readiness for rental, managing financial tasks such as auditing cash drawers and making bank deposits, and handling customer accounts by making payment reminders and collection calls. The position also requires physical tasks, including cleaning and general maintenance of both interior and exterior facility areas to maintain curb appeal and cleanliness.
Requirements
- Successful candidates come from a variety of customer service centered sales environments including retail, restaurant, fast food or other service-based companies
- Valid driver’s license
- Utilize own vehicle to travel between different work locations and/or while conducting other work-related business
Responsibilities
- Work independently at multiple locations, spending time both inside and outside facilities
- Assess customer storage needs and make suggestions, including selling packing and moving supplies
- Perform daily storage unit inspections to confirm inventory and availability, ensuring spaces are ready to rent
- Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits
- Help keep customers current with payments and make reminder and collection calls when required
- Perform cleaning and daily maintenance tasks, including sweeping/mopping interior areas and maintaining exterior grounds/curb appeal clean and free of debris
