Customer Service - Self Storage Manager
About The Position
Public Storage, a leader in the self-storage industry, is currently hiring for a Self Storage Manager. This role involves working independently at multiple locations, balancing time between indoor and outdoor tasks. Key responsibilities include assessing customer storage needs, recommending and selling packing and moving supplies, and conducting daily storage unit inspections to ensure inventory and availability. Managers are also responsible for financial tasks such as auditing cash drawers and making bank deposits, as well as managing customer payments, including reminder and collection calls. The position also requires performing cleaning and daily maintenance tasks to maintain the facility's appearance.
Requirements
- Successful candidates come from a variety of customer service centered sales environments including retail, restaurant, fast food or other service-based companies
- Valid driver’s license
- Utilize own vehicle to travel between different work locations and/or while conducting other work-related business
Responsibilities
- Work independently at multiple locations, spending time both inside and outside
- Assess customer storage needs and make suggestions, including selling packing and moving supplies
- Perform daily storage unit inspections to confirm inventory and availability, ensuring spaces are ready to rent
- Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits
- Help keep customers current with payments and make reminder and collection calls when required
- Perform cleaning and daily maintenance tasks, including sweeping/mopping interior areas and maintaining exterior grounds/curb appeal clean and free of debris
