About The Position

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for reviewing and interpreting customer emails and documentation to accurately enter freight orders into the Transportation Management System (TMS) in a timely manner. This role requires clear, professional communication with customers and internal teams via email and phone to confirm details and resolve discrepancies. The position also works closely with the operations team to help troubleshoot issues, problem-solve shipment challenges, and ensure smooth execution of freight movements.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent, College Degree preferred
  • Previous experience in a customer service setting
  • Good problem solving skills and ability to deliver excellent customer service in a demanding and fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent task organization skills and ability to multitask
  • Above average numeracy/mental math skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred
  • Direct experience in transportation/logistics is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Verifies entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data.
  • Answer phones and respond to emails in a courteous and timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with customers and drivers providing concise instruction and/or information through verbal and written communication methods
  • Escalates all non-routine customer inquiries appropriately to solve operational issues
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assist the settlements manager with any special projects
  • Other duties as assigned.
