The position offers on-the-job education. U-Haul operates with a 'Hire Fast, Pay Fast' motto, providing payment for two hands-on working interviews and a $100 hiring bonus. Additionally, a $300 cash bonus is awarded upon completion of the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. Since 1945, U-Haul has served do-it-yourself movers, originating from the post-World War II need for one-way, nationwide moving equipment, a concept pioneered by co-founders L.S. 'Sam' Shoen and Anna Mary Carty Shoen.
