About The Position

BASF/Chemetall, is the Surface Treatment global business unit of BASF’s Coatings division, operating under the Chemetall brand, and a leading supplier of applied surface treatments worldwide. At BASF/Chemetall, we develop and manufacture tailor-made technology and system solutions for applied surface technology. Our products protect metals from corrosion, facilitate forming and treatment, prepare parts optimally for the painting process and ensure excellent coating adhesion. Our technologies and products are used in a variety of industries and end markets such as automotive, aerospace, aluminum finishing and metal forming. The chemical treatment of metal surfaces is BASF/Chemetall core competence. The focus of our worldwide activities is on the development and implementation of customized technology and system solutions for surface treatment. We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our Customer Care Team in Jackson, MI. Requirements

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or customer facing function is required.
  • Prior experience with providing customer support by phone and processing orders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Analytical thinker, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems; SAP is preferred.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with the order to cash process is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems; SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries through various channels.
  • Provide accurate information about products, services, and policies.
  • Handle the order to cash process.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Process orders, returns, and exchanges as needed.
  • Maintain customer records and update account information.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction; collect customer feedback.
