About The Position

The Customer Service Representative – Collections (CSR) works cooperatively with borrowers to establish repayment arrangements and resolving defaulted accounts in accordance with all applicable Federal and State laws and company policies. The CSR will be expected to provide exceptional customer service while adhering to quality expectations for inbound and outbound customer interactions.

Requirements

  • HS/GED diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year of collections or related experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet software.
  • Ability to speak clearly, excellent listening skills, empathy, attention to detail, and confident demeanor
  • Strong computer and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Dependability and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time
  • Must be able to work well independently and as a team member
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and the internet
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computers, telephone systems, copiers and fax machines
  • Ability to learn in-house software
  • Various work shifts available including early morning and evenings.
  • Required to work every other Saturday 8-noon.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Working with borrowers via inbound and outbound calls to negotiate and arrange payment plans for defaulted accounts
  • Update borrowers’ demographic and financial information on each call
  • Actively listen and inquire from borrowers to gather information to assist in resolving the outstanding balance of the account in a positive and productive manner
  • Provide clear, concise, and professional communication with all borrowers and attorneys
  • Conduct skip trace work to locate and/or verify borrower contact as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records regarding actions taken on accounts
  • Follow guidelines set forth in federal, state or other governing body in addition to all guidelines set forth by other governing agencies
  • Follow up on accounts to ensure activities and payment arrangements are maintained
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions to perform any other job-related duties requested by any person authorized to give instructions or assignments
