About The Position

This role supports Back‑Up Care team (Customer Care Specialist). You will assist employees from client companies who are experiencing unexpected child care issues, such as provider closures, illness, or scheduling conflicts. Your goal will be to help parents secure alternative child care so they can continue working without disruption.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service, help desk, or call center experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document calls clearly and accurately
  • Typing speed of 35 WPM or higher with solid data‑entry skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer functions
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to higher education (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree)

Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound calls from client employees and/or make outbound calls to child care centers or in‑home care providers
  • Identify caller needs and gather required information without a scripted process
  • Coordinate child care solutions using internal systems and networks
  • Accurately document conversations and actions in the CRM (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Navigate multiple systems simultaneously using dual monitors
  • Demonstrate empathy and professionalism, especially when speaking with stressed or frustrated parents
