About The Position

The Customer Service Lead (Bookkeeper) contributes to this mission by providing excellent customer service, processing transactions, managing cash, and performing bookkeeping duties.

Requirements

  • Previous cash handling and customer service experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Earth Fare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly, address their needs, and answer questions about products and store policies.
  • Efficiently operate the POS system to process purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately.
  • Handle various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments.
  • Apply promotional codes and discounts accurately, and inform customers about ongoing sales and special offers.
  • Ensure items are bagged properly to prevent damage, using environmentally friendly practices in line with Earth Fare’s commitment to sustainability.
  • Maintain accurate cash drawers, manage cash flow, and ensure all transactions are balanced at the end of each shift.
  • Stay informed about the natural and organic products sold in the store to assist customers effectively.
  • Responsible for reconciliation and recording of cash register drawers and daily balancing of the Cash Office.
  • Communication of cash or paperwork discrepancies, security issues, or customer service opportunities to the Front End Team Leader.
  • Prepares daily bank deposits and change orders and prepares all cash office paperwork.
  • Coaches and trains cashiers on the standard operating procedures for the department.
