About The Position

American Construction Metals (ACM), a strategic business unit of ABC Supply, produces a wide array of metal building materials including trim coil, edge metal, gutter systems, and a variety of other metal accessories. ACM is seeking an experienced Customer Service / Inside Sales Representative This position is responsible for communication surrounding orders, quotes, deliveries, and inquiries of those products manufactured or distributed through Catalog Plus (previously known as ACM and ABC Catalog). A complete understanding of our product line offering is required. If you are service-oriented and have superior organizational skills, we want to hear from you!

Requirements

  • College degree (2-year or 4-year degree) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read prints and interpret drawings
  • Ability to multitask and analyze quickly
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Associate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for a full 8-hour day.
  • Periodical travel required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Oracle and JDR software experience is preferred, but not required
  • Previous customer service experience, including an understanding of manufacturing and purchasing lead times, is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Managing the sales effort(s) and sales orders via Oracle and JD Edwards (JDE) ERP system
  • Developing stocking programs
  • Maximizing on-time delivery performance and customer satisfaction
  • Managing projects as needed to improve the profitability of the company
  • Initiating credit requests
  • Handling calls and customer service issues
  • Assisting in developing stocking programs
  • Other duties as assigned
