About The Position

The Customer Service Advocate (CSA) -Employee Benefits supports the team by delivering high-quality service to clients and assisting in the administration of benefits programs. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about client service and looking to grow within the employee benefits or insurance industry. The position focuses on responding to client needs, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring accurate and timely benefits administration. A thorough understanding of agency management systems, Employee Benefits workflows, and problem-solving is necessary for success

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability)
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with benefits administration or CRM systems (e.g., Employee Navigator, Epic)
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements such as ACA, HIPAA, and ERISA
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a client-first mindset

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary or secondary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries related to benefits coverage, claims, eligibility, and billing
  • Support the Benefits team with day-to-day client service and account coordination
  • Process enrollments, changes, terminations, and renewals for employee benefits plans
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in internal systems
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers to resolve issues and obtain policy information
  • Assist in preparing client materials, including proposals, presentations, and renewal documents
  • Track important deadlines such as renewals, compliance requirements, and reporting timelines
  • Support open enrollment activities, including employee communications and education materials
  • Review benefits documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling and correspondence
