About The Position

We are seeking a full-time team member with a passion for others who wants to make a difference to work at UMC Physicians. This is a reception job that works at the front desk of our clinics checking in patients and doing administrative duties. We want people who bring strong customer services skills and have a desire to take on the challenges in front of them. The role serves as a direct contact/referral point for patients, greets patients in person and via telephone, answers a multi-line telephone system in a professional manner, and performs clerical duties pertaining to the design and follow up in an efficient patient/provider appointment schedule. The advocate accurately registers patients using the UMCP computer system, ensures all documents and forms are presented, explained, and signed at the time of registration. Essential functions include obtaining all necessary information to perform benefits verifications, obtaining appropriate signed consent forms, and collecting co-pay or the required amount at the time of service. The advocate works to provide a friendly, calm, and professional environment for sick patients, their family, and friends.

Requirements

  • Experience in meeting people and dealing with them under adverse conditions

  • High School diploma
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish
  • Typing speed of 30 wpm
