About The Position

This position is responsible for carrying out all customer service requests, such as responding to inquiries, processing customer orders and handling complaints in a prompt, courteous and effective manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate Degree in Business preferred; 1-2 years' warehouse and/or distribution experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees at all levels of the organization and to communicate with other facilities by phone and electronic communication forms
  • Math skills used add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and computing rate, ratio, and percentage. This includes putting the mathematical information in graph form and interpreting graphs
  • Critical thinking skills to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Basic computer skills including but not limited to a working knowledge of Microsoft office packages

Responsibilities

  • Prepare customer order with the requested line fill and requested and/or required ship dates and assigns to waves which are to be released to the shipping department.
  • Monitor progress of orders throughout picking and shipping.
  • Alter schedule to expedite timely processing of orders, in accordance with customer requirements and company standards.
  • Coordinate special last-minute shipping requests with Traffic and Shipping Departments, expediting any order as necessary.
  • Confer with customer service as to the status of orders, expediting requests, and resolve inquiries and complaints.
  • Provide customer service with information on the quantity of back orders, products to be packaged and products with bulk problems.
  • Interface with Fond Du Lac engineering, customer service and buyers.
  • Ensure skills, abilities and knowledge evolve to keep pace with changes in technology, our industry and specific job requirements.
  • Continually meet and exceed personal goals and objectives in support of departmental and business goals and objectives.
  • Cross train to other departmental positions to serve as back up.
  • Other job activities as assigned.
