About The Position

STUDENT FEE ADVISOR The Student Fees Advisor is responsible for supporting the billing needs of Bradley University’s on-ground and distance education students. This position engages with a high volume of students on a daily basis to address billing inquiries, provide accurate information, and resolve account-related concerns. The Student Fees Advisor is committed to delivering a high-quality student experience through responsive and student-centered service. This position reports directly to the Assistant Manager of Student Finance. Applicant Requirements: The Student Fees Advisor needs to have the experience and traits identified below.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a business-related field.
  • Two years’ work experience in related role will be considered in lieu of business specific bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ethical standards and confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate well (written and verbal)
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and make tough decisions
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills for contact with University personnel, students and external constituents
  • Organized, timely, and efficient
  • Ability to multitask effectively and have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and manage projects independently

Nice To Haves

  • Higher Education or Non-Profit experience
  • Previous experience with Student Billing or similar
  • Two years customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for billing questions for all students
  • Work with students and families to set up payment plans each semester
  • Assist with the monthly audit on account statements
  • Work with the Assistant Manager – Receivables Specialist in processing payments toward past due accounts for current and past students
  • Assist families with questions related to 1098-Ts
  • Work on specialty billing programs, i.e.: Senior Citizen and Company Deferred
  • Work on assigned daily reports to ensure accuracy
  • Identify potential students of need and find solutions to help drive retention
  • Collaborate with various departments on campus to meet different University objectives and changing demands of higher education
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and military regulations
  • Sit with students and families experiencing hardships to discuss their options to continue with school
  • Collect required Release of Information and record where appropriate
  • Work with Student Finance Manager and Assistant Manager – Student Finance to assist and answer questions at the student orientation billing presentation
  • Establish a working relationship with various departments on campus to drive inter-departmental success
  • Pursue and process past due payments from students
  • Perform regular communication to ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
