As a Custom Protection Officer - Armed Rover in Baltimore, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

Must possess one or more of the following: Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
An armed guard card/license is required.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR/First Aid is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and appropriate reporting practices.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location, including buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter points, to help identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
Monitor access points and help verify authorized entry for staff, visitors, vendors, and/or deliveries in accordance with site-specific protocols.
Support an armed patrol presence while remaining prepared to assist with medical-related emergencies, behavioral situations, and other security-related incidents requiring prompt communication and response.
