About The Position

Eaton’s Electrical Sector - ARS PDCA division is currently seeking a Custom Order Engineer based onsite at our Eaton Fayetteville facility. Relocation assistance is available to candidates currently residing in the US. The Customer Order Engineer is primarily responsible for providing electrical and mechanical design and documentation support for power distribution product lines. This includes, but is not limited to engineering designs, collaborating with application engineers, and manufacturing associates, utilization of design automation software, and producing/maintaining manufacturing documentation. The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or mechanical engineering from accredited institution.
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.

  • Strong analytical, computer, writing, presentation, and customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical and mechanical engineering & design.

Nice To Haves

  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing Internship/Co-Op experience.
  • Knowledge of power distribution products (LV and MV Switchgear, Panelboards and Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, etc.).
  • Previous knowledge or experience with PLC or relay programming.
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD.
  • Project Management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
  • Develop a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser’s equipment application.
  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
  • Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing – when required – in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser’s requirements.
  • Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve and/or release equipment for shipping.
  • Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
  • Demonstrate advanced computer skills with ability to learn required software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS).
  • Consult with Quality in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required.
  • Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
  • Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities.
  • Conduct technical training guidance and seminars, as required.
  • Analyze needs and recommends revisions to Department Policies and Procedures.
