About The Position

Provo City is looking for custodians to perform part time work at the Provo Recreation Center. These positions are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Provo Rereation Center for the enjoyment of Provo residents. Qualified, civic-minded individuals interested in supporting the facilities at the Provo Recreation Center are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in general custodial, building, and grounds maintenance OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that would demonstrate an ability to perform the work [substituting each one year of post-secondary education/training for six months of experience].
• A valid, lawful Driver License is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and sanitize City buildings, offices, restrooms, grounds, fixtures, and other designated areas.
• Sweep, mop, seal, wax, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Wash walls, woodwork, windows, doors, desks, ceilings, and other surface areas.
• Collect and dispose of waste including emptying garbage containers and replacing liners.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs including unstopping lavatories, replacing fluorescent tubes and ballasts, and similar assignments.
• Perform general building maintenance including replacing windows, patching holes, replacing tiles, fixing door jambs and similar projects.
• Maintain general cleaning equipment including changing filters.
• Ensure work is completed with minimal disturbance for building occupants.
• Maintain building security by ensuring doors and windows are locked and secured.
• Post announcements.
• Perform other related work as required.
