About The Position

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our Facilities team! This full-time, benefits-eligible role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities to support a welcoming environment for clients and staff. The ideal candidate is hardworking, reliable, and has previous custodial experience with a strong eye for detail and safety. As part of our Facilities Division—which encompasses project and facilities management, maintenance, purchasing, and custodial services—you will play a key role in ensuring a clean and comfortable space for all. Schedule: This is an on-site position working Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm Salary for this role. The starting wage is based on tenure with AMHR. Employees progress through range based on building length of service with the organization. Paid Bi-weekly. $18.87 per hour.

Requirements

  • Preferred: High School Diploma/GED.
  • Entry level position - no experience required.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communications and instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Required Vaccination and TB Test.
  • AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both the annual flu shot and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical or religious exemption may be requested for the annual flu shot.

  • Preferred: three to six months' custodial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and kitchen areas, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
  • Maintain the exterior appearance of properties by picking up trash and sweeping parking lots.
  • Empty trash receptacles, dispose trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bag trash for proper disposal.
  • Unlock doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas.
  • Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff; submit or recommend work orders and check supply levels.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Perform cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.
  • May provide vendors with access to areas for cleaning and may answer basic questions.
  • May report issues with vendors to supervisor. May assist in adjusting conference room chairs or furniture for meetings or other similar activities.
  • Promote a safety-oriented culture.
