About The Position

Principal Function: To perform custodial and housekeeping responsibilities in the Museum Center, Clowes Common, Bayt, Necessary, Amenities, Facilities Building Restrooms and Presidents House along with other inside and outside areas of the property. May work during special and scheduled events/programs to assist with custodial and housekeeping duties. Dependent on the needs of the organization, this job description can pertain to full- and part-time custodians as well as part-time flex/seasonal positions. It can also pertain to day, evening, night and weekend custodial positions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous custodial or housekeeping experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and empty trash in the Museum Center offices, restrooms, work areas, public areas, and break rooms, putting trash into dumpster.
  • Clean and maintain restrooms on grounds to include, but not limited to Clowes Commons, Bayt, Necessary, Amenities, Facilities, President’s House and the Welcome Center. This includes cleaning, polishing, and disinfecting lavatories, fixtures, urinals, commodes, mirrors and other frequently touched areas. Replenish supplies in all restrooms.
  • Provide support for Conner Prairies recycling program.
  • Maintain the entrances to the Museum Center to include front doors, main entrance and employee entrance areas.
  • Keep all supply rooms at the Museum Center, Bayt, Necessary, Amenities, Facilities Building and Presidents House stocked.
  • Uphold the mission and policies of Conner Prairie.
  • Maintain attendance standards.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with others.

  • Other duties as assigned.
