Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous custodial, janitorial, and general maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to operate small power tools and hand tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify potential issues while on assigned projects.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions; some work on grounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and public areas (Indoor/outdoor).
  • Empty trash receptacles and disposal of waste in designated areas.
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, cleaning materials, etc.
  • Conduct inventory of cleaning supplies so that supplies are readily available.
  • Perform routine floor care tasks such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning.
  • Operate floor care equipment including buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums.
  • Clean windows as needed.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and basic carpentry work.
  • Report major repairs and maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
  • Assist with the setup and teardown of furniture and equipment for meetings, events, and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
