Join us in our efforts to better our community! As a Custodian, you will perform routine cleaning of all common areas, maintains carpet and floor care, trash disposal, recycling, in accordance with federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Performs area set up for resident activities, moves furniture, and assures facilities are maintained in a clean and safe manner. If assigned to Blue Skies of Texas - East, incumbent will also perform laundry services to include loading, unloading, and delivering laundry to the East Health Care Center (The Mission), as required. Duties assigned to this position involve universal precautions.

Requirements

At least one year of work experience in a similar position in a retirement community, health care center: Required: If assigned to Blue Skies of Texas - East, incumbent must possess a current, valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record and remain insurable by Blue Skies of Texas carriers. , residential apartment complex, or hotel in housekeeping.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Ongoing safety training, training and seminars related to Environmental Services department tasks are highly recommended.

Responsibilities

Performs routine tasks to include wet and damp mopping, buffing, window washing, vacuuming, carpet and floor care, general cleaning, recycling, and trash disposal in public areas and other assigned locations.
Moves furniture into and out of resident apartments, homes, health care rooms, and offices.
Sets up meeting rooms with tables, chairs, and other furniture in support of regularly scheduled meetings, resident activities, and special events.
Attends monthly safety and training meetings.
Promptly reports any concerns regarding resident and employee health or safety to Supervisor.
Promptly reports missing or defective equipment, items, and fixtures, to include light bulbs, hardware and appliances to Supervisor for proper action.
Loads, unloads, and delivers laundry to The Mission, as required (if assigned to Blue Skies of Texas - East).
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
