OVERVIEW The Custodian will ensure appropriate cleaning of all offices, departments, floors, carpets, windows, seating areas, washrooms, meeting rooms, and all public spaces. A successful candidate for the Custodian position will have prior facilities cleaning experience.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior facilities cleaning experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
  • Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
  • Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, and cleaning solutions.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Daily hands on cleaning of facilities. Conduct inspections of all offices, departments, seating areas, washrooms, meeting rooms and all public spaces, keeping building in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform heavy cleaning duties. Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum floors. Gather and empty trash. Scrub, sanitize, and supply restroom facilities. Dust furniture, walls, and equipment. Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers. Clean fixtures.
  • Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of all cleaning equipment.
  • Communicate with Operations Manager for repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment.
  • Activator/self-motivated to accomplish cleaning goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays.
