About The Position

As the Custodian 1 for Student Affairs, you will work under general supervision to perform custodial tasks that maintain the cleanliness and care of facilities within residence halls, apartments, and dining areas. You must be willing and able to perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, including painting and spackling, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and operating industrial cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers, burnishers, shampooers, and vacuum cleaners. You will also be responsible for cleaning restrooms, classrooms, residence halls, offices, and similar facilities, as well as moving heavy items such as tables, furniture, cleaning equipment, supplies, and other related cleaning devices. This position requires you to bend, stoop, lift, and move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, stand and walk continuously throughout your shift, and climb and stand on ladders. Hours may be 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, or 7:30 to 4:00 pm, or 8 am to 4:30 pm. Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday. This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $3,132 to $4,119 | Range 34 Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
