Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks to ensure the cleanliness and safety of buildings and grounds (e.g., sweeps, dusts, wet mops, vacuums, strips, scrubs, waxes floors, dusts furniture, restocks restroom supplies, shampoos carpets, empties trash, cleans ashtrays, washes walls, windows, doors, woodwork and mirrors; shovels snow; moves furniture; replaces ceiling tile, replaces light bulbs; mows lawn, trims bushes and shrubs, pulls weeds, etc.) Functionally supervises activities of Community Service Workers (e.g., supervises, ordinates and assigns work; monitors work to ensure compliance with directives, quality standards and departmental policy; stays with Community Service Workers while they work; picks-up and takes Community Service Workers back to Probation Department); reports problems and work progress to supervisor. Mains supply inventory and requisitions needed supplies; prepares and maintains records, reports and other required documentation regarding work; attends required training sessions and staff meetings; performs other related duties as required and directed. Operates necessary equipment, vacuum cleaner, buffer, scrubber and snow blower, in order to accomplish custodial tasks; utilizes dust cloths, pails, brooms and cleaning agents. Performs routine maintenance and repair tasks (e.g., cleans, adjusts and lubricates equipment, cleans and/or changes filters); assists maintenance personnel with major repair tasks; performs ground maintenance tasks. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Performs duties of co-workers as required or assigned.
