About The Position

To assist in the maintenance of Agency facilities through the efficient and effective application of custodial maintenance procedures, in accordance with the desired Agency image. To ensure efficient and cost-effective operations and stewardship of the GGC and security of corporate assets. Under the direct supervision of GGC TLC, is responsible for assisting in the custodial maintenance of the facility in a neat and clean appearance.

Requirements

Knowledge of custodial floor and carpet cleaning techniques and procedures.
Knowledge and familiarization with custodial equipment and supplies and associated hazards.
Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Team Leader, Team Members, Customers, and Clients.
Able to supervise and train people.
Able to read cleaning supply directions and chemical mixtures.
Able to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.

Responsibilities

Maintain facilities in neat and clean appearance.
Ensures and provides open and honest communication that encourages that all team members do not place themselves, donors or customers in harm’s way.
Communicates and supports Goodwill’s drug-free workplace, strives for and maintains a positive work environment following Goodwill’s Core Values and Guiding Principles.
Understands represents Goodwill’s zero tolerance for harassment, substance abuse, workplace violence, failure to report medical incidents (work or non-work related), and theft or other related offenses.
Complete custodial maintenance activities in a timely manner and in accordance with housekeeping checklist.
Vacuum carpets, sweep, mop floors, sweep sidewalks, empty trash containers and replace liners, pick up trash on GGC grounds, dust fixtures, doorjambs, door, tables, and office furniture, clean and washing dressing room and restroom mirrors, sanitize restroom toilets and sinks, replenish restroom paper supplies and soap dispensers, clean and wash GGC doors and windows, maintain break room in a clean and sanitary manner (i.e. tables, refrigerator, floor, cups, coffee makers, etc.,); train and supervise trainees on the performance of these duties also.
Perform custodial maintenance work, utilizing sound safety practices (i.e. lifting, use of equipment, floor signs, etc.,); and report accidents to Team Leader in a timely manner, in accordance with Agency safety procedures.
Supports team and location, additional sales floor needs as assigned.
Provide friendly customer service, smiles, assists, suggests and greets within 10 seconds.
Actively listen and clearly get points across.
Maintain a can-do attitude.
Maintain high integrity, do the right thing, report concern right away to Leadership.
Maintain a neat, welcoming appearance and disposition.
Operate custodial equipment in cleaning of floors and carpets.
Perform daily routine maintenance checks on equipment.
Report damaged or non-working equipment to Team Leader in a timely manner.
Complete tasks on a timely manner and address concerns independently with a sense of urgency, detailed and expedient.
Attend in-service and related training as assigned by Team Leader.
May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
Other duties assigned by Team Leader.
