About The Position

The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for all hiring training, onboarding, and supervision of custodial staff and for assisting the execution of ongoing operations of the Hall of Fame Village. The objective of this full-time role is to work in collaboration with the Director of Facilities & Maintenance to ensure facilities are in a condition of operating excellence and assume responsibility for custodial inventory control. The ideal person for the job will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Proven experience as Housekeeper or Custodian preferred.
  • Must have experience with chemical SDS, large cleaning equipment, and third party vendors.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary).
  • Must be guest oriented.
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
  • Effective time-management skills as well as the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and coordinate multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to work independently and as a flexible team player willing to do what it takes to get the duties completed in a dynamic small-office environment; adaptable and enjoys a challenge.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Must be available to work in Canton, Ohio.
  • The ability to lift to 40-50 pounds regularly.
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain, steps, construction zones, or in confined spaces.
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous or hazardous situations.
  • The ability to work in various Ohio weather conditions, inside and outside.
  • The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 10 pounds.
  • The ability to sit, stand, squat, and walk for periods of time as required for the position.
  • Must be able to hear, see, and speak.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and retain information.
  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior guest service to visitors, guests, clients, vendors, and staff.
  • Oversee and schedule third party cleaning vendors, as needed, across campus.
  • Oversee and schedule trash dumpster hauls across campus.
  • Create, oversee, and enforce daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly cleaning tasks/lists for all campus assets.
  • Respond as needed to incidents, accidents, injuries, and altercations.
  • Maintain daily record of Material Safety Data Sheets for products used.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all calls, texts, inquiries, and emails.
  • Supervision of Custodial Staff, assuming day-to-day responsibilities for personnel related matters that include but are not limited to: Assists during interview process, onboards, and trains new hires. Complete annual performance reviews for all supervised staff. Provide continuous feedback, supervision, and coaching to all supervised staff. Formal discipline supervised staff in conjunction with Director of Facilities & Attractions and Human Resources. Create and maintain custodial schedules for all of campus, create staffing assignments, and monitor/enforce attendance. Approve time clocks and make adjustments as needed. Respond in a timely manner to calls, texts, inquiries, and emails. Strictly enforce uniform protocol.
  • Responsible for custodial inventory control across HOFV campus. Regularly check stock of all cleaning supplies at all assets. Replace when appropriate. Order supplies as needed. Maintain inventory records per asset.
  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sanitizing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing as needed.
  • Ensure all offices and common spaces are kept clean, neat, and sanitary by frequently examining all facilities to ensure standards and expectations are met at all times.
  • Notify supervisor of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.
