About The Position

The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a Custodial Supervisor. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Facilities / Facility Manager, the Custodial Supervisor performs daily and or nightly duties as communicated by Facility Management.

Requirements

• Graduation from High School, or GED or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate written and verbal instructions, light computer skills including use of e –mail.
• Minimum of two years experience in custodial, housekeeping, or related work.
• Familiarity with cleaning procedures and products.
• Familiarity with the care and maintenance of custodial equipment.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Willingness to work overtime during special events or heavy visitation periods.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Follow Standard Operating Procedure as out lined by Facilities Management.
• Conduct a daily Campus walk through, identifying conditions needing attention.
• Supervise, and train staff in all areas of custodial responsibilities, to include but not limited to floor cleaning equipment, restrooms, exhibit cleaning, special cleaning projects, and event set-up.
• Assure janitor closets are stocked as needed, acquiring supplies from the warehouse.
• Check the work of staff custodians for quality and accuracy.
• Supervise all Custodial activities assuring that effective and efficient work is being performed.
• Cover work during staff lunch breaks, cover call offs, and assist custodians when guest attendance is high.
• Provide input to Facilities Management and or the Maintenance Manager on general maintenance that may need to be performed, such as light bulb replacement or exhibits repairs.
• Maintain security of the Museum during cleaning while the Museum is closed.
• Check out employees at shifts end assuring all assigned tasks have been performed.
• Shall be familiar with the Museum's Emergency Exits, Evacuation Routes, and Emergency Management Plans.
• Assures that all Custodial and Event Staff work safely and adhere to all Museum safety guidelines. Adheres to OSHA Standards, labeling of spray bottles, wet floor precautions, PPE as needed, proper use of blood born pathogen kits, proper lifting procedures, recognizing and reporting safety hazards / accidents. Attends safety briefings. Assuring that Museum Guests and Staff Safety are top priority.
• Flu Season the Custodian shall adhere to the SOP / CDC guidelines regarding Flu Season as directed by Facilities Management. Custodian Event-Set Up personnel will be trained and supplied with the necessary information and PPE to work safely within the guidelines of the SOP as it relates to Flu Season.
