About The Position

Aramark is seeking an experienced Custodial Manager to lead daily custodial and housekeeping operations within a commercial in Waynesboro, VA. This leadership role is responsible for supervising a team of 15-20 custodians, ensuring building cleanliness standards are met, and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.   The Custodial Manager oversees frontline cleaning teams, manages labor scheduling and supply usage, conducts quality inspections, and ensures the facility consistently meets client expectations. This role reports to the Senior Custodial Manager or Facility Director and plays a critical part in delivering operational excellence across the site.   This position is ideal for a hands-on facilities leader with experience managing custodial or janitorial teams in large buildings, campuses, schools, healthcare, or commercial environments. The compensation range for this position is between $65,000 - $75,000 per year.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in custodial operations
  • Must read, write effectively, and apply discretion and comprehensive understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Requires knowledge of machinery related to custodial operations
  • Requires listening, interpersonal, computer and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics and apply elementary math functions
  • Ability to work well under time constraints
  • Must maintain friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients and co-workers
  • Is adaptable to customer needs

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily custodial and housekeeping operations
  • Manage and direct custodians and cleaning staff to meet performance and quality standards
  • Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure proper building coverage
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and compliance
  • Respond to client requests and maintain strong communication with department leaders
  • Review work orders and assign labor efficiently to maximize productivity
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety standards, and local regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage custodial supply usage
  • Control labor costs and supply expenses to maintain budget expectations
  • Train, coach, and develop custodial team members
  • Maintain required documentation, records, and compliance reporting
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
