Curriculum Writer (6-month Contract) Pay rate : $25.00 per hour Job location: 2595 Century Pkwy NE | Atlanta, GA 30345 A Tax Clearance letter for the State of Georgia is required Position Duties: The Georgia Department of Revenue currently has an opening in our growing and innovative Taxpayer Services Division. Do you have a gift for writing about complicated concepts in a beginner-level format? Do you have excellent project management and follow-up skills? Do you thrive within a complex, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment? If so, we would like to hear from you! If selected for this role, you will: Produce written content, lesson plans including instructor notes and presentation decks. Participate in the development of instructive courses for use in support of training. Write in different voices for different audiences and filter content based on the audience’s needs. Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assessments and training modules. Work on multiple projects, with different complexity levels, in an environment with changing priorities. Evaluates training documentation and learning outcomes. Properly review, update, and maintain documentation. Other duties as assigned. The Curriculum Writer will report directly to the Assistant Director.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED AND three years’ experience providing educational training, or instructional services in functional area.
  • Writing – Experience producing clear, concise, and instructive prose.
  • Investigating: Experience in piecing together information to create coherent, useful documentation.
  • Tracking: Experience in identifying where existing documentation will need to be updated based on new project developments.
  • Production: Experience in producing written content to be used for instructional learning. Content to include, but not limited to, lesson plans, training modules, instructor notes, assessments, presentations, and SOPs.
  • Time Management: Experience in prioritizing projects and follow-up on deliverables.
  • Resilience - How consistently an employee displays the ability to adapt to changing circumstances while at work.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or Degree in English, Journalism, Education, Creative Writing or Technical Writing.
  • Experience writing gap analysis/developing evaluation reports.
  • Experience documenting and building out content in online databases.
