About The Position

Join National Heritage Academies (NHA) as a Moral Focus Specialist. The Moral Focus Specialist is responsible for supporting the vision and implementation of NHA's Moral Focus program across all NHA schools, including the K-12 curriculum. The role reports directly to the Moral Focus Team Lead. National Heritage Academies (NHA) partners with communities to build and operate public charter schools. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in curriculum, instruction, and/or teaching preferred.
4 - 10 years experience as a teacher or school leader with a strong understanding of how to create a classroom with an exemplary culture preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in character education and/or social emotional learning.
Experience developing and facilitating professional development to school leaders and/or K-12 teachers.
Strong project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a style that is both assertive and direct, as well as supportive and collaborative.
This is an in-person position at our NHA Service Center located at 3850 Broadmoor Ave., Grand Rapids, MI.

Experience with Excel, Adobe, Articulate365 and/or Google Classroom a plus.

Responsibilities

Support the vision and direction for NHA Moral Focus program.
Research and promote best practices with regards to character education and social emotional learning.
Develop and support the implementation and execution of Moral Focus and/or Advisory programs in NHA schools.
Provide professional development to leaders and teachers related to Moral Focus and Social Emotional Learning.
Facilitate the yearly Moral Focus Competition across all NHA schools.
Create and implement processes to ensure schools have access to resources needed for Moral Focus or Advisory curriculum.
Serve as the business owner for digital tools for the Moral Focus/Advisory Curriculum.
Collaborate as needed with other C&I teams as well as Service Center departments.
Ability to travel as required - 10-15% of time with overnights with heavier travel in the months of July and August.
