Cultural Resources Project Manager – Southern California
About The Position
HELIX Environmental Planning, Inc., an employee-owned leader in environmental consulting, seeks a Cultural Resources Project Manager to join our Southern California team (San Diego, Pasadena , Orange County, or Inland Empire). Salary will be based on qualifications and/or experience, with a robust benefits package. Expected starting pay range of $79,000 to $110,000. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in archaeology, anthropology, history, or related field
- 6+ years of archaeological project experience, including CEQA/NEPA/NHPA Section 106 compliance
- 2+ years of experience working for an environmental consulting firm and/or agency
- Experience in the study of Southern California prehistoric and historic archaeology
- Strong research, technical writing, and organizational skills
- Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record
Nice To Haves
- Professional experience with Native American coordination/communication
- Registered Professional Archaeologist (or ability and willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of southern California local agency guidelines for CEQA compliance
- Professional experience with agency coordination
- Existing client relationships
- Experience preparing proposals including a scope of work and/or budget
Responsibilities
- Manage cultural resource studies for diverse projects
- Oversee research, field surveys, artifact analysis, and mitigation monitoring
- Collaborate with senior cultural resources staff
- Coordinate with agencies and Tribal representatives
- Prepare technical reports and proposals
