About The Position

The Cultivation Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Cultivation department, including leading and motivating the team to meet production goals, setting performance expectations, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that the department is compliant with all regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 years of related experience in cultivation, horticulture, or greenhouse setting required
  • 3 years of leadership experience required
  • Experience in production demand planning and process coordination required
  • Quality control and inventory management experience required
  • Proficiency in Excel required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with state regulations
  • Frequent repetitive hand motion
  • Manual dexterity is needed for manipulating hand tools
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (8+ hours)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Frequent standing, climbing of stairs or step ladder, crouching, handling, kneeling, pinching, pulling (horizontal and vertical), lifting (waist to shoulder), reaching (waist to shoulder and above shoulder), and reading
  • Visual acuity is needed to accurately read small screens and labels
  • Warehouse/production facility environment with environmental controls
  • Consistent moderate background noise level due to machinery and HVAC
  • Exposure to humidity, temperature changes, atmospheric conditions, and vibration
  • Exposure to high head, bright light where eye protection is required
  • Exposure to keef/dust and cannabis odor
  • Exposure to skin contact with plants, to which some individuals may be allergic (PPE provided)

Responsibilities

  • Achieve operational excellence through effective staffing and scheduling, setting production & harvest schedules, and communicating assignments, instructions, and goals to the team
  • Manage team by setting expectations, and providing training, coaching, accountability and performance evaluations
  • Procures supplies, materials, and tools necessary to meet production goals
  • Proactively works to identify and resolve roadblocks and bottlenecks to meet and exceed production output. React promptly to challenges such as mistakes or delays
  • Performs quality control and quality assurance inspections for signs of nutrient deficiency or toxicity, pest damage or infestation, or signs of plant stress, and implements corrective actions as necessary
  • Maintains cultivation, irrigation, and fertigation equipment by coordinating preventative maintenance actions, scheduling repairs, and facilitating team discussions to identify equipment issues and solutions
  • Delivers the required quantity of product within established timeframes and specifications, that meet the company quality standards and state regulations
  • Ensures accurate recordkeeping and inventory management within Company databases; identifies, resolves, and notes any variances
  • Develops and motivates associates to meet and exceed goals and expectations
  • Ensure compliance with Company SOPs and state regulations
  • Protect employees and visitors by providing a clean and safe work environment that is compliant with safety regulations, proactive with resolving safety related issues, and maintains accurate up to date safety records
  • Champion a safety culture where employees follow safety guidelines and regulations
  • Behave in a manner that is positive, productive, cooperative, and encourages teamwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned
