About The Position

Summary/Objective The Cultivation Managers will oversee all Cultivation Staff to ensure that all cultivation tasks are completed quickly and with excellent quality. The Cultivation Managers are responsible for guiding staff members during these activities, monitoring time to completion, and checking completed tasks to ensure the quality is consistent with the standards set by the Cultivation Director and Buckeye Relief. Cultivation Managers shall be responsible for tracking and analyzing data related to tasks in an effort to increase productivity and streamline processes. Prepare task schedule for upcoming weeks and ensure 100% completion. Oversee team to ensure assigned tasks are completed in an efficient and agreed upon timely manner. Manage the schedule for people, which may include multiple shifts in one day or rotating shifts throughout the week, as workload requires. Double check work performed by staff to ensure quality of production standards are maintained. When deficiencies occur, corrective action to be implemented to guide and train staff. Cultivation Managers shall be directly responsible for producing, collecting and entering time logs and other field-gathered data. These data shall be analyzed and shared with the Director of Cultivation to determine ways to increase efficiencies and productivity. Provide feedback on staff performance in the field. Communicate with upper management any issues in field to ensure crops are healthy and on-schedule. Responsible for all aspects of crop production including cloning, pruning, training, room transfers, etc. Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of a clean and sterile environment including sweeping, mopping, washing of trays and inserts, etc. Communicate with Facilities Specialist and Inventory Management of any equipment and supply needs. Assist with the loading and unloading of product and supply shipments. Assist with supply and product inventory and tracking as needed. Mains biosecurity protocols and enforces any measures deemed appropriate by Director of Horticulture or the Director of Cultivation. When breaches occur, Cultivation Managers to escalate to upper management. Assists in crop inspection, disease and pest reporting, and other aspects of IPM protocol. Mains current knowledge of latest production techniques and practices. Monitors the working environment to ensure that company hygiene, and health & safety policies and procedures are complied with. Ensures compliance with state regulations for all aspects of cannabis production. The Cultivation Managers shall develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the team. Cultivation Managers shall work with the Plant Health Team to determine best practices for crop management and growth steering. Work Environment This job operates in a greenhouse growing environment, with some time spent in an office environment. Conditions in the greenhouse can be bright, with varying temperatures and humidity. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. This position requires the ability to withstand higher temperatures 75 – 95 degrees and elevated humidity levels. This position requires working under intense, bright lights with sunglasses provided for eye protection. This position requires the passing of a respirator fit test and the ability to wear a full-face respirator when chemical safety labels require one. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:10a.m. to 4:10p.m. Occasionally working after hours which may include holidays or weekends. Travel Some travel will be required to stay abreast with industry trends, technologies and growing methods.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass state mandated background check.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Supervisory experience of crews more than 5 people
  • Enthusiasm about the Medical Marijuana Industry.
  • ODA Pesticide Applicators License
  • Forklift Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Two to five years of previous crop production experience.
  • Experience managing commercial-scale cultivation facility
