About The Position

The Cultivation Manager – Greenhouse/Hoop House is responsible for overseeing daily cultivation operations within Jushi’s greenhouse and/or hoop house production environments. This role manages cannabis production from germination through harvest, with responsibility for environmental performance, irrigation and fertigation execution, crop health, labor efficiency, and operational consistency. The Cultivation Manager ensures cultivation activities are executed in alignment with company production targets, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety expectations. This position reports to the Director of Cultivation and plays a key role in supporting high-volume, cost-efficient cannabis production.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse production, protected agriculture, or cannabis cultivation.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in an agricultural or cultivation operation.
  • Working knowledge of crop production principles, plant health, irrigation practices, and environmental management.
  • Experience managing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles and crop protection strategies.
  • Familiarity with state compliance requirements and seed-to-sale tracking systems, such as METRC or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or extended hours during critical production periods, as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience managing large-scale greenhouse and/or hoop house cannabis production environments.
  • Experience overseeing cannabis production from germination through harvest, particularly in autoflower and/or seasonal production systems.
  • Hands-on experience with irrigation and fertigation systems, nutrient delivery programs, and troubleshooting water delivery infrastructure.
  • Experience operating in seasonally variable environments and responding to weather-driven production challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage labor, develop people, and lead teams with a strong culture of accountability and performance.
  • Experience tracking cultivation KPIs, supporting production forecasting, and driving cost-conscious decision-making.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, environmental monitoring platforms, digital cultivation logs, and production reporting tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, plant science, agronomy, agriculture, greenhouse management, or a related field preferred, but not required based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily greenhouse and/or hoop house cultivation operations from germination through harvest, including transplanting, irrigation, fertigation, pruning, trellising, canopy management, crop maintenance, and harvesting
  • Monitor plant health and crop development throughout the cultivation cycle and take timely action to address plant stress, nutrient deficiencies, pest pressure, disease risk, and environmental issues.
  • Maintain optimal growing conditions through active management of temperature, humidity, airflow, light exposure, and other environmental variables.
  • Manage greenhouse and hoop house environmental systems, including ventilation, shade systems, heating, cooling, and supplemental lighting, where applicable.
  • Respond proactively to seasonal shifts and weather-related risks by adjusting environmental, irrigation, and operational strategies to protect crop health, yield, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Facilities and other cross-functional partners to ensure environmental equipment, hoop house structures, coverings, and related infrastructure are operating effectively.
  • Support the setup, repair, and maintenance of hoop house structures, coverings, irrigation infrastructure, and cultivation support systems.
  • Develop, implement, and adjust irrigation schedules and nutrient programs to support plant growth, crop consistency, and yield targets.
  • Own day-to-day irrigation and fertigation system performance, including oversight of injectors, pumps, valves, lines, batch tanks, emitters, and related infrastructure to ensure accurate and reliable delivery of water and nutrients.
  • Implement and monitor Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to prevent and mitigate pests, disease, and crop loss.
  • Support germination, transplant, and production schedules to ensure consistent crop turnover, harvest timing, and facility utilization.
  • Supervise cultivation staff and ensure daily tasks are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company SOPs and production expectations.
  • Lead labor planning and daily work prioritization to ensure staffing levels, task deployment, and execution align with crop timing, production goals, and business needs.
  • Train, coach, and develop cultivation staff to build technical capability, accountability, and bench strength within the greenhouse/hoop house team.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all cultivation operations comply with applicable state regulations, seed-to-sale tracking requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict adherence to sanitation practices, contamination prevention protocols, and worker safety standards, including OSHA, Hazard Communication, and Worker Protection Standard requirements, as applicable.
  • Track, analyze, and report key cultivation KPIs, including germination rates, plant loss, crop health trends, irrigation performance, labor efficiency, yield, quality, and harvest timing.
  • Use cultivation and production data to drive decision-making, identify improvement opportunities, and maintain accountability to established performance targets.
  • Support production forecasting by aligning crop schedules, labor plans, and facility capacity with projected harvest timing and output goals.
  • Drive cost-efficiency through disciplined labor management, input utilization, crop loss reduction, and operational planning while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
