What would you do as a Culinary Hourly Key Manager / Tournant The Culinary Key Manager / Tournant at Florida Avenue Brewing Co. plays a vital role in supporting the culinary team and ensuring the success of our food operations. In this position, you will assist the Executive Chef with planning, ordering, and inventory management while adhering to our culture and high standards for food quality and presentation. You will collaborate closely with front-of-house management to deliver seamless service and motivate our culinary associates to achieve operational excellence and guest satisfaction. With open availability, you’ll be actively involved in monitoring kitchen operations, contributing to menu planning, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring that standardized recipes are meticulously followed. This role also requires participation in training, conducting line checks, and executing special events, all while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Requirements for this Culinary Hourly Key Manager / Tournant job To excel as a Culinary Key Manager / Tournant at Florida Avenue Brewing Co., candidates should possess a combination of culinary expertise and strong leadership skills. A minimum of 2 years of related culinary experience, including at least 1 year in a management role, is essential. Familiarity with various food service environments—such as restaurants, hotels, and healthcare—is crucial. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of food trends, production techniques, sanitation, safety protocols, and food cost controls. Competence in setting up production sheets and managing kitchen operations will be key to success. The ideal candidate will also exhibit excellent supervisory and coaching abilities, alongside proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Excel. Open availability, including nights and weekends, is required, alongside the physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs, work on your feet for extended periods, and adapt to a fast-paced kitchen environment. A ServSafe Manager food certification and Cicerone Beer Server Certification are preferred.

Requirements

  • 2 years of related culinary experience
  • 1 year at the management level
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care and/or related food service operations.
  • Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls and presentation.
  • Ability to set up and distribute production sheets.
  • Supervisory leadership training, management and coaching skills.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel.
  • Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities
  • Ability to work varied shifts
  • Attention to detail
  • Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Associate degree or higher in related field or trade education is preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs to shoulder height and push or pull 160 lbs
  • Must be able to work on your feet for 10 hours
  • Must be able to crouch, bend, lift and reach
  • Must be able to work in hot, wet and loud environment
