About The Position

Saint Louis University is offering a paid summer internship opportunity as a Culinary Camp Counselor for its Gardens to Tables Culinary Camp. This seasonal position runs for 8 weeks from June 1 to July 31, with a break for the 4th of July. Campers will engage in gardening, cooking, and nutrition activities. Summer Interns will gain valuable experience in nutrition and culinary education, meal planning, procurement, recipe modification, and working with children and teenagers under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Counselors will guide campers through culinary experiences and accompany them on field trips. This is a 40-hour per week position, with training and planning starting on May 26, 2026.

Requirements

  • Background in Education, recreation, physical education or related field.
  • Experience in supervising and teaching groups of children in activity programs.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise group activities daily under the instruction of the Camp Director.
  • Carry out programs in various areas of concentration, including supervision of camp participants.
  • Assist and participate in various activities including gardening, cooking, and nutrition activities.
  • Uphold camp policies and ensure the safety of all participants.
  • Communicate with campers and parents/guardians in a professional manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Camp Director.
