About The Position

The Camp Assistant will support the Chef Instructor in culinary-based lessons to kids ages 8-16. Other duties include ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the room and equipment. Hours are Mon - Thursday, 8am - 5pm. No evenings, no weekends. Requires passing a background check. The Camp Assistant supports the Chef Instructor during hands-on, culinary-based lessons for campers ages 8–16. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness and proper sanitation of the classroom and equipment. Camp Assistants are responsible for guiding a small group of approximately four campers. While the Camp Instructor leads the overall lesson, Assistants ensure their group is: - Working safely - Following sanitation practices - Taking turns appropriately - Receiving help with basic tasks as needed Metropolitan Community College is a comprehensive, full-service public community college supported by the taxpayers of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties.
