About The Position

PROVIDES EFFECTIVE BACK-OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO THE CREDIT UNION. THIS POSITION REQUIRES STRONG ATTENTION TO DETAIL WITH THE ABILITY TO MULTITASK. The essential functions are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties. Requirements

  • Education and Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience. A high school education or GED; completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training course conducted by vendors
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Physical Demand and Work Environment: This position involves primarily sedentary work, requiring the ability to sit, stand, and bend with minimal physical exertion. Occasional lifting of items up to 20 pounds may be necessary. In emergency situations, the ability to climb and descend stairs is required.
  • The role involves frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, copiers, fax machines, and calculators. Candidates must be able to work on a computer for extended periods, typically 6 to 8 hours per day, as needed.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or travel off-site may be required at the request of management. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential.
  • Mental and/or emotional requirements: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team, is essential. Candidates must be able to read and follow both written and verbal instructions accurately. Basic math skills, correct spelling, and a foundational understanding of computers are required.
  • Clear and effective verbal communication is important, with the ability to present information logically and understandably. The role requires professionalism and composure when interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds, both within and outside the organization. A strong commitment to exceptional member service and discretion is expected.
  • Candidates must be able to manage stress effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy and quality in a fast-paced environment. The ability to prioritize and handle multiple, shifting responsibilities is critical. Discretion and confidentiality, both internally and externally, must be upheld at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Diligently researches and processes securing liens on collateral loans and the release of liens as appropriate.
  • Effectively work with other financial institutions, dealerships, AK Department of Motor Vehicles, and other related partners and/or entities both local and nationwide.
  • Scan, update, and maintain all necessary paperwork regarding member documentation. In a timely manner, while ensuring the retained format is legible within the CU’s retention software.
  • Must meet individual and departmental goals
  • Assisting in processing MRB deposits and maintaining on-site ATM balancing.
  • Assisting with department reports and keeping them up to date
  • Filing
  • Incoming/outgoing phone calls-proper phone etiquette
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Effectively work with other departments to complete department tasks whenever necessary including keeping up with any necessary shadowing to be confident and understanding of said department’s role.
  • Express ideas/opinions to assist in simplifying and making more efficient department procedures.
