About The Position

Intermediate District 287 is looking for a Cosmetology Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Career and Technical Center - Pathways program offers career courses for high school students that are designed to match the level of career readiness by focusing on skill development experiences, career awareness, and decision making that can lead to a college certificate, diploma, or degree. Position Details: Provide classroom instruction to a diverse population of students in the field of cosmetology including hair, barbering, nails, and esthetics. Requirements

  • Current license in Cosmetology preferred
  • License with the Minnesota Board of Cosmetology preferred
  • Associate’s degree may substitute for years of relevant employment or teaching experience.
  • High school diploma or a general education development (GED) certificate and five (5) years of employment and/or teaching experience in the subject field.
  • A current Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching license issued by the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) in the specific area is required.
  • If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2 Teaching License.
  • In addition, some occupational clusters require industry certification.
  • Specific License(s) for position: 092602- Cosmetology Practicing license with the Minnesota Board of Cosmetology
