Work Habits: 50% Academic and Career Advising • Provide individualized advising and support to new, continuing, and returning CTE students, including career planning, course selection, and credential progression. • Assist students in clarifying academic, personal, and career goals through development of Individualized Student Plans (ISPs). • Guide students in identifying and understanding high-demand CTE career pathways aligned with Louisiana's Regional Labor Market Area 4 (RLMA 4 ). • Provide advising support for special populations, including economically disadvantaged students, single parents, English learners, students with disabilities, and nontraditional enrollees. Recruitment and Outreach • Support recruitment efforts during peak seasons by participating in carer fairs, high school events, and campus preview days. • Coordinate with Enrollment Services to provide onboarding support for CTE applicants and applicants from rural service areas. • Partner with high school counselors, community-based organizations, and employers to increase awareness of CTE pathways and credentials. • Conduct campus tours and information sessions for prospective students, families, and community stakeholders. • Travel regularly to rural campuses across Region IV to ensure equitable advising support for underserved students. Behavioral Standards: 20% Data Management and Reporting • Maintain accurate and timely records of student advisement, outreach events, and service delivery logs. • Track metrics related to student enrollment, retention, credential attainment, and postsecondary placement. • Assist with data collection and reporting for Perkins grant compliance and CLNA follow-up. • Use CRM and student tracking systems to inform intervention strategies and improve student outcomes. • Support grant implementation efforts by participating in relevant planning meetings and grant activity documentation. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of South Louisiana Community College and the goals of the Perkins V grant. Institutional Support: 15% Retention, Persistence, and Intervention • Identify and monitor at-risk students using predictive data and proactive outreach strategies. • Develop and implement retention-focused strategies including academic recovery plans, resource referrals, and early intervention systems. • Collaborate with faculty and Student Affairs to create wraparound services for students experiencing barriers to persistence. • Host success coaching sessions and workshops tailored to academic skills, time management, and test preparation for industry certifications. Team Relations: 15% Collaboration and Coordination • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, advisors, and support services across campuses. • Collaborate with Workforce Development, Academic Affairs, and Program Coordinators to align advising efforts with industry trends and program outcomes. • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and Perkins-related planning activities. • Engage with advisory boards and employer partners to understand workforce demands and share student opportunities.
