About The Position

Operates radiology equipment, typically under physician supervision. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Ensure proper patient identity by checking two forms of identification per hospital policy, and confirming physician orders. Attend and complete all mandatory meetings and in-services, as well as assigned continuing education. Complete and maintain departmental competency checklists. Effectively utilize resources and time. Identify and report issues and concerns to effectively solve problems. Show interest and actively participate in Process Improvement projects, both departmentally and hospital wide. Be able to collaborate with others in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Effectively communicates the exam requirements, risks and benefits in order to ease anxiety and obtain informed consent. Uses proper radiation protection techniques in order to minimize radiation dose to patients, fetus, staff, and self in accordance with the ALARA principle. Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values. Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI). Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.
